How to Build an Accounting Firm Website That Explains Your Services

An accounting website should answer three questions quickly: What services does this firm provide? Can I trust its experience? How do I make an enquiry? The page structure below helps you build clear answers before choosing fonts or photographs.

Start with the visitor, not the homepage artwork

Write down the enquiries you want to receive. Someone searching for help with monthly bookkeeping has a different question from a business owner considering virtual CFO support. If every service appears in one generic paragraph, the visitor has to guess whether you can help.

Choose one primary action such as “Request a consultation” and keep it consistent. Secondary links can invite visitors to explore services, team members or insights, but should not compete with the main action on every screen.

This is a website planning guide—not tax, accounting or legal advice. The linked Northledge pages are fictional demonstration content, not a real accounting practice.

Six steps to plan and launch your website

Work through these steps in order. Each example link opens a real layout in the Northledge theme demonstration—not a claim about an operating business.

01

Map your actual services

List the services you actually provide. Give high-intent offerings their own pages and use plain language to explain who they are for, what is included and what the next step is.

02

Write a homepage with a clear promise

In the first screen, state the type of firm, audience and most relevant services. Add one prominent enquiry link and a second link to the services overview. Avoid unexplained jargon and promises you cannot substantiate.

03

Build service-specific pages

Use a consistent structure: problem, scope, process, frequently asked questions and enquiry link. For example, bookkeeping and tax preparation are related but should not be described as identical services.

04

Show genuine credentials and evidence

Introduce real people, qualifications and relevant experience only when accurate and permitted. Publish a case study only with appropriate client permission and verifiable details. Label anonymised information appropriately.

05

Make contacting you straightforward

A consultation page should say what happens after someone enquires, which details are requested and how to contact the firm. Test form delivery and your privacy notice before making the site live.

Check mobile usability and publish

Open each page at phone width. Check navigation, readable font sizes, working links, form fields and visible calls to action. Replace demo information before using the site for a real business.

A simple page map for an accounting practice

Launch checklist · Pages to prepare

  • Home — who you help and your primary call to action
  • Services — links to distinct accounting, bookkeeping, tax and advisory pages
  • About / Team — real qualifications, locations and ways of working
  • Case Studies — permission-based outcomes; no invented testimonials
  • Insights — useful explanations of the firm’s services and processes
  • Consultation / Contact — clearly labelled enquiry routes

Inspect a working layout before buying a theme

Northledge is a paid WordPress theme with a live fictional demo. Inspect the service listing, a bookkeeping detail page, a sample case-study collection and an enquiry layout to decide whether the structure suits your firm. Replace every example business name, person, claim and result before launching your own site.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Treating tax preparation, tax planning and bookkeeping as the same service.
  • Leaving fabricated case studies or credentials in a live website.
  • Hiding contact details until the bottom of a long homepage.
  • Using a contact form without checking delivery and privacy handling.
  • Publishing a mobile layout without testing actual link and form behaviour.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a separate page for every accounting service?

Not automatically. Start with a separate page when the service has a distinct buyer question and you can explain its scope meaningfully. Avoid creating near-identical pages solely for search rankings.

Can I publish the Northledge case studies as my own?

No. The demo case studies are fictional design samples. Replace them with genuine, permission-based examples or remove the section.

Is Northledge an accounting service?

No. Northledge is a WordPress website theme sold by SNG Works. It is a design and layout product, not an accounting, tax or financial service.

Want to preview the layout on a live website?
